Leaving Certificate Pupil Fitness challenge
The winner of the now annual 6th year 15 metre beep test was Cathal McCarthy who achieved a score of Level 18 shuttle 1.
Cathal was the clear winner and he received a gift voucher for lifestyle sports for his prize, so as to encourage him to keep up his commitment to an active lifestyle as he leaves St. Peters.
In 5th year the boy’s top spot was shared by Michael O Donovan and one of our visiting international students Adriano Prade. The winning girl was Courtney Histon. Well done to all!
A special mention must also go to fifth year pupils from classes Eanna & Eithne. Ten pupils were part of a select group nationwide who worked with the NCCA in the development of a new app in development for Senior Cycle PE. The pupil’s feedback proved valuable and has proved a vital contribution to the design team.
A further acknowledgement must go to Andrew Corkery and Kate Dorgan who had their experience of being involved in the Contemporary Issues strand of the Senior Cycle PE Framework published in the annual Physical Education Association of Ireland (PEAI) newsletter which was distributed to all PEAI members nationwide.
