Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre
30 transition year students traveled to Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre in Co. Kerry from Tuesday March 14th – Thursday March 16th. The pupils engaged in a wide range of outdoor activities including kayaking, rock climbing, hill walking abseiling, orienteering and swimming.
This trip is a central part of the transition year PE programme and as it offers students a great opportunity tom enhance their personal/interpersonal development & physical well being (Healthy Lifestyle), while also promoting outdoor sporting skills and recreational activities.
A great time was had by all and the pupils were accompanied on the trip by Mr. McSweeney, Ms. Wallace & Ms. McGovern. The centre staff and the teachers also commended the group on their positive attitude and commitment to all aspects of the trip.
