Since September 2016 the school has been working conscientiously to promote the benefits of an active lifestyle to pupils, staff and parents. We want to outline within the school the importance of regular physical activity.
The coordinator is Tony McSweeney, being assisted by Kit O’Keeffe. All pupils and staff on the team have been working extremely hard in their pursuit of the flag.
An active school flag committee was formed among pupils, staff, school management and parents. This committee sees the pursuit of the Active School Flag as a community wide project.
There have been monthly meetings, and all hands are on deck to help design and implement an Active School Week. This will run from April 24th to the 28th 2017.
The three big events this year are our Active School Week, a Sports Day and a Teacher/Pupil marathon relay challenge. The marathon relay will also serve as a fundraiser for the community.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish the team well on their quest to capture the flag and on the upcoming events, photos of which will be available here.
