Guidance and Counselling

St Peter’s provides a comprehensive guidance and counselling service for our students. All students are given emotional, social and educational support throughout their six years in our school. Some of the key supports available to students include:

  • Individual Counselling
  • Referrals  to outside counsellors or agencies as necessary
  • Academic supports and strategies for individual students
  • Academic monitoring, progress and target setting for examination students
  • Assistance, advice and guidance with subject options
  • Managing learning and self- motivation
  • Study Plans for class groups and individual students
  • Career Guidance
  • Assistance with identification of suitable college courses and careers for individual students
  • CAO, PLC and UCCAS applications
  • Information on apprenticeships and employment opportunities
  • Advice and instruction on CV preparation, job applications and interviews
  • Ongoing information sessions on and visits to colleges and  universities
