Goals from Danielle Hayes and Courtney Histon sealed a very historic win for St. Peter’s, as we became the first school to retain the Bank of Ireland Schools Senior B Girls National Cup following a 2-1 win over Mulroy College at the AUL grounds Dublin.St. Peter’s took the lead in the first half, only for three times winners Mulroy College to equalise shortly afterwards, to leave the rest of the game on a knife edge. However, with minutes remaining, Courtney Histon stepped up and scored the decisive goal, much to the delight of the St Peter’s magnificent supporters.Team coach Finbarr Loftus, now coach to three All Ireland winning soccer teams in less than a year, paid tribute to the players for their discipline, belief and their attitude towards the game, which won out in the end.
