Our Foróige Programme is back for January 2023, with our First Years being paired up with a Transition Year “Buddy” for the next few weeks! Many thanks to our TYs for facilitating the programme, which aims to help students to settle back into school life following the Christmas Break, along with helping all students to make greater connections with their fellow students! Many thanks to Ms McGovern, along with TY Co-Ordinators Peace, Ellen and Abbie, who will be organising the events and activities over the next few weeks! 👏 #firstyear

After a very successful Munster Campaign, our U19

After a very successful Munster Campaign, our U19 Boys’ Soccer Team reached their second consecutive Munster Final, this year playing against Coláiste Mhuire, Askeaton. As defending title holders, feelings and confidence were strong heading into the game. Fantastic performances by our players were a close second on the day, with Coláiste Mhuire winning the John Murphy Cup on a 1-0 scoreline. We are all extremely proud of this team and how they have conducted themselves throughout this campaign, and we thank them for their efforts and for representing the school so well over the past few months! 👏 🔴⚫️ To our Leaving Certificate students, yesterday’s match may have been the last time that they played for St. Peter’s, and although not the scoreline you were hoping for, we know that St. Peter’s has provided you all with a rich history of fantastic memories of playing soccer in the St. Peter’s jersey! ⚽️ Thank you to Coach Mr. O’Keeffe for his leadership in guiding and supporting this team throughout the year! 👏 Congratulations to Coláiste Mhuire 🏆 We’ll be back, no doubt about that! 💪🔴⚫️ #stpetersabú

We are delighted to announce that local primary school children can this year participate in the inaugural St. Peter’s Community School Easter Camp! The St Peter’s U19 Boys’ Soccer Team are into the MUNSTER FINAL!!! 🔴⚫️ An epic match against Crosshaven saw St Peter’s come out winners on penalties today! ⚽️ The match finished 2-2 after normal play, in which St Peter’s took an early lead as Kristian O’Callaghan smashing the ball into the corner of the goal after a fine assist from Alex Linehan 🥅Without Daniel Moynihan, St Peter’s would not have gone in at HT with the lead, having pulled off several top class saves 👏 St Peter’s were continuing to absorb pressure when Eoghan Farrell scored from 35 yards out. Crosshaven threw everything at St Peter’s, scoring a goal back from a header. Then almost immediately Crosshaven won a penalty but yet again Daniel Moynihan made another top save 💪 Crosshaven kept pushing for an equaliser and their striker got a brilliant individual goal. As the match went to extra time, chances were few and far between. It approached the inevitable penalties and St Peter’s had no better man between the goals. Daniel saved two of the four penalties and Alex Linehan, Eoghan Farrell, Kristian O’Callaghan and Jamie Lake all cooly dispatched their penalties 👏 St Peter’s are into their second consecutive Munster Final the week after next against either St Patrick's Castleisland or Colaiste Mhuire Askeaton! Well done to our Leaving Certificate Physical Education class who, along with studying for their upcoming Christmas Assessments, have been busy completing their Physical Activity Project (PAP) which was due for submission before Christmas 👏🎄 We are delighted that two of our P.E. teachers, Mr. O’Keeffe and Ms. Wallace, have received CPD training to deliver the new Leaving Certificate PE Course, and equally delighted that we have both 6th and 5th year students who are able to apply their interest in PE and Extra-Curricular Activities to their studies of Leaving Certificate PE! 🥇⛹️🤾🏻‍♀️ #highqualityteachingandlearning

Every year we are lucky to welcome exchange students from a range of European countries, on a one-term or one-year Erasmus, to St. Peter’s 📚 Last week, as we said goodbye to our TYs before their Work Experience, we also held a farewell ceremony for the International Students who will not be joining us after Christmas! We want to wish all of our one-term International Students the very Best of Luck as they return home to continue their studies! 🏫 We hope that you have enjoyed your experience here in St. Peter’s, and that you will look back fondly on your time in Ireland with us! 🇮🇪 Thank you to Ms. McGovern for organising the farewell ceremony! 🙏 #erasmusinireland

On Tuesday 22nd November, students attended an Ope

On Tuesday 22nd November, students attended an Open Day in Cork College of Further Education, Bishopstown 👨‍🔧🧰 This event was aimed at students who are interested in an apprenticeship as a career option ⚙️ Students were provided with a tour of the facility and saw the various workshops where practical classes in traditional craft apprenticeships take place 👨‍🏭 Students met with instructors and apprentices in areas such as: Electrical Instrumentation; Brick & Stone laying; Heavy Vehicle Mechanics; Pipefitting; Wood Manufacturing & Finishing and Metal Fabrication 👷‍♂️There were also representatives from Pharmaceutical Industries & Logistics Companies. There are others where the apprentice works four days in a company and attends college on the fifth day of the week. Students gained valuable insights and information on the day. They are now thinking about apprenticeships in areas not previously considered 🧱Thanks to Ms. Quane and Ms. Murphy for supervising the trip! @corkcollege_bishopstowncampus

Well done to the Junior Girls’ Soccer Team who defeated Millstreet Community School in the Munster Cup Quarter Final on Friday! 👏⚽️ The final score was 12-0 to St Peter’s. Scorers were Meabh Deasy (4), Brooke Manley (2), Siobhán Deasy (2), Sarah O’Mahony (2) and Lynne Chadwick Manning (2). They are now through to the Munster Semi Final which will be played in January 💪🔴⚫️ #stpetersabú
