School Self Evaluation

School self-evaluation and school improvement are integral practices in our school. In St. Peter’s we actively evaluate the work we do with our students and constantly seek ways to improve our school. This approach results in great benefits for our students and teachers. Currently we are focused on two national initiatives identified by the Department of Education & Skills, Literacy and Numeracy.

These areas have been evaluated in the school and two school improvement plans are in place.

As part of our ongoing work we are also involved in peer observation, which involves teachers observing the work and practices of colleagues in the classroom. This helps our teachers to observe and share good teaching practice which will ultimately benefit our students.

Teachers are also designing and implementing techniques that will assess if students are learning (Assessment for Learning).
