Transition Year Production of Grease

Despite the restrictions imposed due to Covid-19, this year’s TY group were determined not to let these restrictions get in the way of staging a very successful production of Grease the Musical on Tuesday May 18th, 2021.

Auditions for the scenes and songs began last September 2020, with regular practices each week, the students showing great leadership in taking ownership of the production from the very beginning to include adaptation of the script, backdrop design, set design and choice of costumes, ably led by Transition Year student Jane Finlay( Patty Simcox) who also provided choreography for the production.

Although practice and preparation came to a halt during lockdown from school, the students returned with renewed vigour to stage a wonderful production to an exceptionally high standard.

The leading male character Danny was played by Conor O’Callaghan and the leading female character Sandy was played by Sophie Craven. The script was adapted for this production by Karen Duff (Pink ladies), Sophie Craven and Jane Finlay. The production was filmed by past pupil Olivia Walsh and sound engineering was provided by Soundtrax. Well done all.
