On the 4th of March, St. Peter’s U17 Boys faced off against Edmund Rice Carrigaline in the Cork Schools Cup. Starting the match with a new formation (4-3-3) and a new captain (Alex Murphy) St. Peter’s started strong with a goal in the opening minutes with Daniel Akinsanya finishing of Kyle Cummins shot on the line. Further goals from Alex Linehan and Alex Murphy put St. Peter’s in a strong position at half time. With the Boys’ confidence up, St. Peter’s took over the game and added further goals from Bassem Alhasan, Daniel Moynihan, Jack O’Hanlon and 2 more goals from Alex Murphy to finish the match with an 8-0 victory.
Next up for the U17 Boys in the Cork Schools Cup is a tough away fixture to Presentation College. Good luck to the U17s in their last 16 match.
