Principal’s Welcome

As Principal of St. Peter’s Community School, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school website which offers you an insight into our positive ethos, alongside our warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Our school first opened its doors in 1988 and operates under the dual trusteeship of Sisters of Mercy (CEIST) and Cork ETB.

In St. Peter’s we are dedicated to providing students with a vibrant educational experience in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and supportive environment. We challenge our students to act with courage, integrity, and leadership.

We offer a broad and vibrant range of extra and co-curricular programmes that serve to enhance the holistic education we provide for all our students. I acknowledge the contribution of all stakeholders in the school community as we work together in a spirit of collaboration and cooperation towards ensuring that our students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values, to support them on both their educational and life journeys.

We place immense value on our positive, compassionate, and student-focused relationships. Our mission statement highlights our belief in empowering and equipping our students to become well rounded and qualified individuals who can thrive in and contribute to an ever-changing world.

As Principal, I am committed to education in its broadest sense. I believe in setting high standards and expectations, in all facets of school life, so that our students both embrace and avail of every opportunity that a high quality and holistic post primary education offers, while ensuring each of our students reach their potential.

Over the summer the Department of Education sanctioned a large extension to our school to cater for 750 students. This will double the number of students in the school and provide a state of the art educational campus for the future.

Please browse our website to find out about all aspects of life in St Peter’s and contact us for any further information required.

Warmest regards,

Tony McSweeney

Principal.
